Applications for the Cube Production Residency Program are now open to writers with experience in delivering high-quality literary programs whose practice intersects digital media, and Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM).
The Cube is one of the world’s largest digital interactive learning and display spaces, and is part of the Science and Engineering Centre at Queensland University of Technology.

The Digital Writing Residency is for ambitious, technically capable, experimental and cutting edge creatives producing work within the digital language landscape. Areas of practice include – digital writing; experiential use of language in digital environments; communication; narrative and interaction; coding; programming; digital story telling; writing for Games.
We are looking for established creative practitioners working in the digital space, who have the ability, invention and creative vision to develop a digital language project that will place The Cube at the forefront of public digital display and interactive environments.
Eligibility
To apply to this category, you must demonstrate that you have achieved at least one of the publication/performance requirements outlined below by the closing date for applications:
- at least one digital or new media project with a literary focus previously exhibited as part of a curated program or published in a peer reviewed publication;
- or one full length work for adults published or performed; or one work for children or young adults over 20,000 words;
- or two children’s picture books.
Applicants must have demonstrated experience in working within the digital new media environment. Individuals must be Australian citizens or have permanent resident status in Australia.
